CAY HILL, Sint Maarten— Recently, members of the Integrity Chamber visited the Netherlands to meet with various stakeholders. Meetings took place with The Sint Maarten House in the Netherlands, the directorate of Kingdom Relations at BZK, and the Nationale Ombudsman in the Hague. The delegation also met with professors from the University of Amsterdam and the Integrity Office at TU Delft, who shared professional insights on the topic of integrity.
In addition, meetings were held with the Whistleblowers Authority (Huis voor Klokkenluiders). The delegation also had the opportunity to attend the Veermanlezing 2024, a whistleblower seminar, hosted by the Whistleblowers Authority on the occasion of World Whistleblowers Day.
The meetings will contribute to the Integrity Chamber’s development of its advice for the Government of Sint Maarten on the topic of whistleblowing, ensuring transparency, accountability, and the protection of those who speak up against wrongdoing.
The working visit to the Netherlands was significant to the Integrity Chamber, as it provided them with a valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge and best practices with stakeholders and industry experts.
